SJ 05

During the lecture, we were given a task to find a suitable site of 15m × 10m in Taylor’s University to carry out site measurement. Later, we were required to produce a site plan, thumbnails and two perspectives. Below are the outcomes.

plan-0001

This is our site plan where it is located just in front of the lake with staircases located over there.

thumbnail

These are the thumbnails that can be found on the site which are dustbin and spot light.

The task given this time is to trace the architecture drawings of the architect we had chosen. The architect we had chosen is Morphosis and we were instructed to trace one site plan, plan, section, elevation and perspective. I had chosen one of the architect’s works, which is Perot Museum of Nature and Science, located at Dallas, Texas, United States of America and it occupies 4.7 acres of total site area.

On 28.9.2010, I was instructed by lecturer to draw sketches of structures within the time given on the spot. Below are my drawings.

2 point perspective drawing of Axis Viana Hotel in Viona do Castelo. As the distance getting further form our sight, the windows diminish in size.

This is the 1 point perspective drawing. The size of shoplots enlarges when it is getting nearer to our eyes.

SJ 03a

The task given this time is to sketch out 1 plan, 3 perspectives (one external) and 2 details by referring to the structures in Taylor’s University Lakeside campus. Below are my sketches.

126-0001

The plan shown above is the second floor of Taylor’s University.

128-0001

This is the external perspective drawing of the view of the academic blocks C,D and E.

85-0001

The sketch above is a single vanishing point perspective drawing where the size of the columns diminishes so that it looks further from our sight and to enlarge the size of the academic blocks.

The sketch above is a two-point perspective drawing.

The task given this time is to sketch 3 objects, 1 perspective with the strokes learnt previously to be applied on the sketches. Below are my sketches drawn.

7hki-0001

The sketch above is a cup where I  have applied different types of strokes including Zig-zag, Cross-hatching, Short dashes and Scribbles. These strokes are used to highlight the shadow on the cup to further show the direction of light. For the shadow of the cup, I have used short dashes.

7lkf-0001

The sketch above is a hat. For this sketch, I had applied short dashes to show the effect of curving inward. For the ribbon that is tied around the hat, I used Continuous and Scribbles. And for the shadow, I used the combination of Zig-zag and Cross-hatching.

724d-0001

The sketch above shown is onion. I have applied Zig-zag on the part where the skin is tear off. Besides, I used lines too to emphasis the effect of smoothness of the outer layer of onion.

7hk-0001

The sketch above shows a wooden house with a tree located in front of it. For the roof of the house, i have applied Cross-hatching technique. For the wall, I have applied Continuous, Short dashes and Scribbles to enhance the feeling of wooden house. Besides, i have applied all the strokes on the tree to imply the theme of nature as i want to show the complication of the tree branches. As for the background ,  i used Zig-zag to show the distance.

SJ 02a

Previously I had learnt different types of sketching strokes which are Zig-zag, Cross-hatching, Pointilism, Continuous, Short dashes and Scribbles.Below are the examples explaining the various kind of strokes that I had drawn.
